Temporary Librarian Wanted

The university library serves as a meeting place for the entire university and offers an inspiring study environment at both campuses.

Our range of media and services is aimed at and used by students, staff, and the public; interactions with users occur both in physical environments and through digital channels. Scientific information provision and services for education and research are areas included in our mission. We support, teach, and guide students and researchers in searching for and using information as well as in the academic writing process. Additionally, we assist researchers in publishing and making their research accessible, as well as navigating the transition to open science. The university library also offers additional support to students in various forms such as student health, targeted educational support for disabilities, and study guidance.

We are now looking for a temporary librarian.

Job Responsibilities

If you enjoy varied tasks and appreciate meeting users, you may be the one we are looking for.

You will be part of the Publishing and Learning Support operational group. The job responsibilities include teaching and guiding students and, to some extent, supporting researchers. Depending on your previous experience, tasks in other areas of the library's operations may become relevant. Additionally, you will participate in providing service to our users at the information desk and through other communication channels.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in library and information science or equivalent. The work as a librarian requires good written and verbal language skills in Swedish and English, as well as good IT skills. You need to have a few years of professional experience from libraries.

Meritorious are:

• experience working in university or college libraries
• experience planning and conducting teaching in information retrieval
• experience supporting and guiding researchers in issues related to information retrieval, reference management, research data management, and publishing

Your Qualities

As a person, you are service-oriented and focus on the user's needs. You have a pedagogical approach when interacting with individuals and groups, and you are curious and willing to take on new challenges. You will work in various teams and are therefore expected to have good collaboration skills and a sense of responsibility.

Employment and Start Date

The position is a full-time temporary position starting from 2026-08-03 or by agreement, but no later than 2027-04-30.
