As a power engineer, you will have a broad and varied responsibility for the design, analysis, and development of the electricity distribution network in the region. You will work on developing solutions based on investment plans, new connections, and maintenance needs, and you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are carried out safely, efficiently, and reliably. The role includes performing network calculations and capacity analyses, developing selectivity plans, and making technical adjustments in facilities and systems. Troubleshooting is a central part of the job, where you analyze problems, identify causes, and ensure that the right measures are taken. The tasks also include customer contact in the form of technical advice on connections and projects, updating technical documentation and drawings in the network information system, and regular field visits to follow up on designed solutions on-site.
Your profile
To succeed in the role of power engineer, we believe you have a solid technical foundation in electrical engineering and an analytical approach. You have a degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience. You are meticulous, responsible, and used to driving projects forward independently. At the same time, you thrive in close collaboration with colleagues and contractors and find it easy to communicate technical solutions.
You are solution-focused, confident in making decisions, and enjoy varied tasks that include calculations, field visits, and customer contact. An unpretentious attitude and a willingness to help where needed are important, as is your appreciation for work with significant responsibility and clear impact on society.
Requirements for the position:
- Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience
- Swedish and English in spoken and written form
- Driving license B
- Experience in similar roles
- Knowledge of network information systems
- Knowledge of SCADA systems
Värnamo Energi is a local and independent energy and IT group owned by Värnamo municipality. They offer climate-smart electricity and heat as well as high-tech IT services to over 14,000 customers and have about 55 employees.
