Kalmar County Museum is a knowledge organization and meeting place. We are one of the largest county museums in the country with a regional mission to bring to life and preserve cultural heritage. With our vision 'Kalmar County Museum changes lives' as our guiding star and the stories of cultural heritage at the center, we create experiences that engage, touch, and inspire.
We are about 75 employees who together contribute to making cultural heritage accessible to more. Our activities are broad and encompass areas such as archaeology, building preservation, cultural heritage education, exhibitions, conservation, maritime archaeology, as well as archives, libraries, and collections. Our work extends across Kalmar County, but also to nearby counties as well as nationally and internationally. Our activities in the museum building and region attract around 100,000 visitors and participants each year. The museum is open year-round and is a popular destination with well-known brands and popular exhibitions and events.

Description
This summer, we are looking for museum hosts/guides for the summer's activities. If you love providing service and good customer interaction, this is the perfect position for you. As a guide, you are the one who conveys the museum's content in a light-hearted and informative way. You are ambitious and proactive, which for us means that you think about the guests' needs and can sense what the guest needs before they ask.
You have an eye for detail and are very responsible. One of our core values at the museum is togetherness. This is important to us and means that we work as a team and support each other in our daily work. It is therefore important that you are attentive to your colleagues' needs and are a team player.
The work includes guiding, some of which have dramatized elements, hosting in the museum's exhibitions, and ensuring the safety of visitors in the building. If necessary, assist in the cash register or in other parts of the operations.
We prefer that you have previous experience in:
- Experience speaking in front of groups. Preferably both children and adults.
- Working in retail and/or cash handling.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience guiding/acting as a host.
- Theater background.
- Cultural history or educational training.
