Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the development of the library's support for research-related services at MDU, such as open science. The work involves many contact points, and you will have an outgoing and relationship-building role towards research teachers, doctoral students, and students, as well as the management and bodies of departments and faculties. You will work closely with both researchers and other users and drive development work in groups, where dialogue and collaboration are central. You will continuously collaborate with other departments within operational support and with various parts of the university's organization to ensure a professional and cohesive support. The position includes working closely with researchers and building and maintaining researcher contacts. As a natural part of the library's daily work, regular librarian tasks may also occur, such as staffing the information point.

We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in library and information science,
- At least two years of experience from higher education, special, or government libraries,
- Experience in driving development,
- The ability to read, understand, and present complex information,
- The ability to work flexibly, pedagogically, and contextually but systematically,
- Very good ability to read, write, and speak Swedish and English,
- Fearlessness in speaking in front of groups,
- Experience in a networking and relationship-building role.
Meritorious
For this position, it is meritorious to have experience in:
- Data management in a scientific context,
- Presentations at conferences and/or own publications.
Personal Qualities
In a comprehensive assessment of suitability, personal qualities are also taken into account. All employees at MDU are expected to collaborate and meet colleagues and students with respect, take responsibility for the operations and their own tasks, and contribute to a good work environment.
We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in driving operational development and who is motivated to find new, smart ways to improve work methods and services. You are curious and always see things from the user's perspective, which allows you to quickly identify needs and translate them into practical solutions. With a good problem-solving ability, you approach complex issues in a structured and analytical manner.
You have a pedagogical approach and enjoy explaining, guiding, and creating understanding among different target groups. Collaboration comes naturally to you – you actively contribute to a good team spirit and enjoy working together with others to achieve common goals. At the same time, you are confident in starting and driving development work both independently and in groups, and you ensure to take initiative and move the work forward.
We value the qualities that a balanced age and gender distribution, as well as ethnic and cultural diversity, contribute.
