Driver for the Tripartite Waste Management Committee

The Tripartite Waste Management Committee is a joint committee for the municipalities of Malå, Norsjö, and Sorsele that collaborates on property-close collection of municipal waste such as food and residual waste as well as packaging.

The three collaborating municipalities breathe vitality and development in Västerbotten's inland, close to both coast and mountains. Within the Tripartite municipalities, around 9000 residents live, and approximately 1000 tons of municipal waste is collected annually. The operation focuses on sustainability, quality, and good service to the residents.

Description and Responsibilities

A new collection system for food and residual waste has been fully operational since 2023 in Sorsele, Malå, and Norsjö, and the Tripartite manages the collection of food and residual waste as well as the collection of packaging from shared recycling stations in these municipalities. We are now taking the next step towards a fully coordinated collection system for household waste. Starting in 2027, packaging will be collected close to properties from households, and therefore we now need to expand the operation with an additional driver.

You will work together in a team of five drivers and one operations manager, and we have modern vehicles and technical equipment to assist us. We are now looking for a new driver for the team who wants to be part of our development journey forward in the Tripartite. In this role, you are expected to contribute to a safe, efficient, and sustainable waste management within the Tripartite municipalities, and you will have daily contact with both residents and colleagues in the municipalities' technical operations.

As a driver and waste worker, you will primarily work with the collection of municipal waste and packaging within the municipalities of Malå, Norsjö, and Sorsele. The work is performed with the Tripartite's own collection vehicles, which consist of crane and side-loading vehicles, but collection can also be performed with other equipment if needed. Supervision and maintenance of vehicles and equipment are included in the daily work.

Other types of waste management work may also occur, to some extent including service in the municipalities' other technical operations based on your current skills and experience. Examples of such tasks include service at recycling centers and maintenance of municipal facilities. Service may occur in all three municipalities where evening or shift work and overnight stays in other locations may occur.

• Have training or experience working with vehicle-mounted cranes

Additional Information

Stationing is possible in Sorsele, Malå, or Norsjö. High technical capacity and your personal qualities will weigh more than long experience in the driving profession.

The current basic schedule is 7 AM to 4 PM weekdays, but this may change based on short or long-term needs. The workplace offers agreements for flexible working hours. The position is fundamentally a permanent employment but may start with a six-month probationary period.
