Project Manager for Fairway Investigation
based in Norrköping or Stockholm
The Swedish Maritime Administration, in collaboration with ports, municipalities, and other authorities, is driving several projects aimed at increasing safety and adapting fairways to meet the needs of shipping. We are now looking for a project manager who will be part of the work to shape Sweden's future fairways. Your work contributes to societal benefits through increased capacity, safety, and accessibility in our fairways for shipping. You will belong to the Swedish Maritime Administration's unit for fairway projects and be a project manager in an organization consisting of both employees and consultants, which requires close and unpretentious collaboration. We act collegially and support each other within both the project groups and the unit. We have the opportunity to work remotely a few days a week, while we highly value meeting physically when necessary.

Fairway projects are mainly carried out in the phases of fairway investigation and implementation. The Swedish Maritime Administration is now seeking a project manager for the fairway investigation phase. As a project manager, you will drive one or more fairway projects, which mainly involve investigating the fairway's alignment, identifying necessary measures, and permit assessment. This means you will have significant responsibility for ensuring that the groundwork for our measures is of high quality.
The Swedish Maritime Administration works in an applied project model based on PPS, and the project manager is responsible for steering and following up on the project's time, cost, and content (TKI). The project manager reports to the project owner or, alternatively, in the role of deputy project manager to the main project manager.

- Representing the Swedish Maritime Administration in project-specific matters
- Responsible for project planning, management, and follow-up
- Leading internal and external resources
- Creating cost estimates and cost forecasts

- Conducting procurements according to LOU
- Preparing decision materials and reporting to project owners, clients, and steering committees
- Participating in planning, coordination, and implementation of sub-projects within maritime and port infrastructure
- Collaborating with internal functions and external actors such as consultants, contractors, authorities, and other stakeholders
- Contributing to the development of project and unit working methods, processes, and collaboration forms
Who are you?
To be considered for the role of Project Manager, you need to have:
- A university degree in urban planning or with an environmental science or technical focus, which we assess as relevant for the position.
- Experience working in infrastructure or construction projects
- High proficiency in project management including administration
- Strong ability to work systematically and independently in a complex project environment
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with experience managing multiple stakeholders
- Very good skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of the Office suite
- A valid driver's license as business travel by car is common
It is advantageous if you have current experience in:
- Applications for permits for water activities (according to the Environmental Code)
- Preparation of environmental impact assessments
- Standard agreements ABK 09 and AB 04
- Procurement according to LOU
- MS Project
We place great importance on your personal qualities. It is important that you are driven and have the ability to work independently within your area of expertise. You find it easy to systematize and make plans and keep order in your projects. You will have many contacts, both internally and externally, which is why it is important that you collaborate in a responsive manner and have the ability to create professional and trusting relationships. You find it easy to absorb material and draw appropriate conclusions, and you also express yourself well in written documents.
We have high demands on our employees' awareness of security and confidentiality.
