About the job

You will work with all tasks within the field of conservation architecture, including permit assessments for heritage buildings and ecclesiastical cultural heritage as well as grant management. A clear focus of the work will be to produce investigations and decision proposals for so-called inquiry-initiated cases within the heritage building area. You will also have the opportunity to provide internal cultural heritage support to other areas of operation within the County Administrative Board.

The work also includes advising and contacting authorities, municipalities, companies, and individuals. We take joint responsibility for the unit's assignments, and you will therefore contribute to continuously developing our working methods.

You will be based in Gävle, but travel within the county may occur. By agreement, some remote work may be possible.

About you

We are looking for someone with a university degree equivalent to a Bachelor of Arts in cultural heritage with a focus on building preservation or other education that we assess as equivalent. You should have at least one year of professional experience in the cultural heritage field, where experience with case handling from the County Administrative Board, museums, municipalities, or equivalent is meritorious. Experience with heritage building investigations is also an advantage. You have good knowledge of the Cultural Heritage Act as well as the applicable parts of the Planning and Building Act and the Environmental Code for cultural heritage operations.

The County Administrative Board's operations and role in community building processes require that you can see issues from different perspectives to make the right decisions and that you can place your work in a larger societal context.

As a person, you are secure and stable and demonstrate professional judgment and personal maturity. You work service-oriented, take responsibility for your tasks, and have the ability to prioritize and complete your work. You need to be skilled at expressing yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Together with your colleagues, you work towards common goals, so it is essential that you are good at collaborating and communicating with others. We also appreciate if you have experience in building a broad network with a focus on heritage buildings and can initiate and maintain professional relationships with both individuals and organizations.

You have good knowledge of the most common Office programs and hold a valid driver's license (B).

The employment is a fixed-term position with a start date by agreement and lasting until 2026-12-31.
