Head of Systems and Compliance within Decentralized Energy Solutions
The mission of our department is to create value for our customers by offering decentralized energy solutions (DES) consisting of solar energy and energy storage solutions – i.e., clean, distributed, and renewable energy and related optimization services and flexibility. This is our contribution to Vattenfall’s purpose of enabling a fossil-free life. DES is organized within the Business Area Customer at Vattenfall.
As the responsible manager and leader for DES Systems and Compliance, you and your team will contribute to executing and developing the DES business in Sweden and Finland. You will be part of the management team for DES. In your role as a member of the DES management team, you are expected to represent your area of responsibility and work cross-functionally to transform ideas into actionable initiatives and promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and openness. You contribute to driving the department's strategy for direction and business by providing insights, identifying opportunities, and supporting priorities.
As the head of DES Systems and Compliance, you will have the opportunity to build a business-critical function aimed at serving as a strategic bridge between the business and Vattenfall IT. The mission aims to ensure well-informed and value-driven business decisions regarding the design, management, and further development of our system landscape, in line with the business goals and overall IT strategy.
The team currently consists of two employees and is under development. The role includes overall responsibility for both leadership and competence development, as well as establishing effective working methods and structures in a developing team of significant importance. As our business is expected to grow in complexity over the coming years, much focus for a long time ahead will be on building the team and identifying capabilities and roles.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the team and its competencies through coaching leadership and in accordance with Vattenfall’s values.
- Establish and further develop working methods, methods, and governance models for system development and system management from a business and value perspective.
- Be responsible for the development and management of systems and integrations based on business needs, and ensure a stable, efficient, and modern delivery organization with high operational reliability and quality.
- Enable the translation of business needs into clear and prioritized IT requirements and drive structured requirements management to ensure that technical solutions support business goals and long-term direction.
- Have overall responsibility for IT security and security work by ensuring that systems, processes, and working methods comply with applicable security standards, frameworks, and principles.
- Ensure privacy and regulatory compliance by integrating data protection and information security requirements into systems, processes, and development flows.
- Drive and contribute to the work with system architecture and platform development by providing a business perspective in technical choices, standardization, and lifecycle management in close collaboration with IT architecture and security functions.
- Ensure quality, performance, and availability by defining, following up, and further developing relevant goals and key performance indicators for stability, quality, and delivery capability.
- Be responsible for stakeholder management and value governance including IT roadmap, IT budget, prioritization, and ongoing communication with the business to ensure maximum business benefit.
Requirements Specification
Education and experience required:
- Academic degree at the Master's level in Engineering/Civil Engineering or Computer Science
- At least 7-8 years of experience from larger companies, preferably in areas such as IT, PO/product owner, or business developer/process
- At least 2-3 years of experience as a personnel responsible leader and manager
- Experience in leading change in a constantly evolving market with many external and internal stakeholders
- Experience from industries such as energy, technical consumer products, or consulting
- Experience in stakeholder management in complex and large organizations
- Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English. Knowledge of Finnish is a bonus.
