The Community Building Administration is responsible for food and cleaning services, land development, urban planning and building permits, parks and green spaces, streets, water, and waste. Here, over 300 employees work together to make Ystad a great municipality to live, work, and thrive in.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The job involves property-related waste collection within Ystad Municipality. As a driver in the waste management unit, you will work throughout the municipality. Our fleet consists of dual-compartment and four-compartment vehicles, a suction truck, and a service vehicle. Municipal waste is collected according to a set schedule at single-family homes, multi-family houses, and businesses.

As a professional driver in the waste management unit, you are responsible for creating a good customer experience and contributing to sustainable waste management. During collection, you will drive collection vehicles and empty waste bins. You will ensure that our customers have functioning bins and other equipment. You are responsible for the supervision of vehicles and other equipment. The collection work is performed with 2- and 4-compartment vehicles and takes place in both rural and urban areas.

Suction emptying involves emptying individual sewage systems in rural areas. You should have knowledge of several different types of separators, closed tanks, etc.

You will handle deviations and participate in the work to rectify them, manage the vehicle's digital equipment, and be responsible for the maintenance of your vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS

• at least a high school education
• experience in the driving profession and previous waste management work for both bin and suction emptying
• C driver's license and valid professional competence certificate (YKB)
• basic computer skills and good knowledge of the Swedish language.

Working as a waste collector also involves a lot of physical activity, so it is important that you enjoy physical work outdoors. The role also includes vehicle maintenance and documentation using digital tools, such as deviation reporting.

Experience driving heavy vehicles and having a crane license for cranes over 18 t/m is also a merit. We expect you to have a good understanding of professional vehicles and always perform your work with good quality. Furthermore, the job requires that you are responsible, flexible, and have good teamwork skills. Good customer service is important to us, and we place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
