LU Service is looking for a service host with a focus on cleaning and maintenance

Workplace Description

You will be employed as a service host at LU Service with a focus on cleaning and maintenance services.

LU Service is constantly working on improvements to meet customer service needs and is currently building a service center, where you will be an important part of the work. The LU Service Center offers services to the university's various operations, ranging from mail handling and small moves to the assembly of whiteboards and furniture – our mission is quite simple: we help where we can and are needed.

The Role of the Service Host

You will be part of a service team responsible for covering temporary staff absences due to illness, childcare, or short leave among our cleaners and maintenance staff, but also within other operations in the section, such as conferences, housing, and printing.

The workdays begin with planning the work to best cover the needs that exist, with the resources available in the team. The work includes a lot of cleaning, but you will also work with everything from mail handling, delivery reception, reception and store work to furniture arrangements and moves. You should also be comfortable meeting customers when needed.

It is crucial that you can structure your own work and participate in planning the team's work. If you enjoy having varied days and like to work in a team, have diverse tasks, collaborate, identify problems, and solve them, then you should definitely apply for the position. What We Are Looking For

To be considered for the position, you should have experience in service professions such as cleaning, maintenance, conferences, hotels, or similar. You are self-assured, independent, interested in learning new things, and always treat people with respect. You should enjoy being around other people, and since Lund University is a workplace with individuals from all over the world, you need to be proficient in both Swedish and English.

You take responsibility for yourself, for the team, and collaborate to solve tasks. We need someone who can identify needs and problems, find solutions, and represent LU Service in the best way. We need you to be brave, willing to think outside the box, ask a colleague if you don’t know, and have a strong drive to deliver good service to the customer.

Examples of Daily Tasks

  • Cleaning in offices, lecture halls, hotels, entrances, kitchens, and common areas.
  • Mail and package handling.
  • Deliveries and transport between different buildings.
  • Handling of error reports and customer contact.
  • Furniture arrangements and simple assembly and repairs.
  • Reception and store work and hosting, for example, during conferences.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position are that you:

  • have work experience in a service role that the employer considers relevant
  • can read, speak, and write Swedish and English fluently
  • have a valid driver's license (B)
  • have digital competence and maturity
  • have good collaboration skills
  • are service-oriented and self-sufficient
  • are flexible and responsible
  • can work irregular hours (especially early mornings, late evenings, and some weekends).

We place great importance on personal suitability and how you complement the work group. It is an advantage if you have worked in some type of case management system.

Other Information

The employment is permanent with a workload of 100 percent, starting on April 1, 2026, or by agreement. A probationary period will apply.

The university applies individual salary setting. Please state your salary expectations in your application.
