The Role of the Nurse in Ambulance Care

As a nurse, you will work alongside an ambulance caregiver or another nurse with basic or specialist training. Together, you assess and treat patients at home, at the accident scene, and during transport to healthcare facilities. You will also perform transfers of patients between different healthcare facilities, both within and outside the county.

As an employee in ambulance care, you have access to advanced equipment such as defibrillators, mechanical chest compression devices, and a variety of medications. In your daily work, you encounter all types of patients, where your role is to provide good and safe care based on the patient's needs. Your work is therefore varied, and no two days are the same.

Ambulance care has developed in recent years and offers increasingly advanced care even before the ambulance arrives at the hospital. The vision of ambulance care is to provide the best possible ambulance care and to be an attractive workplace with the patient at the center.

In Region Jönköping County, there are 25 ambulances, including a light care ambulance and a transport ambulance distributed across twelve stations. Ambulance care consists of three ambulance areas, of which the southern area is one and has stations in Vaggeryd, Gislaved, and Värnamo. Your Profile

We are looking for a licensed nurse with at least one, preferably several years of experience in somatic healthcare. We view experience in emergency care positively. If you also have any of the following specialist training, it is an advantage:

• Ambulance Care
• Emergency Care
• Anesthesia
• Intensive Care

You are an experienced driver and hold at least a B driver's license. In our operations, it is important that you have good physical fitness and work capacity, both for your own and the patient's sake. Working in ambulance care requires personal maturity and good judgment, and we place great emphasis on personal suitability.

As a person, you are secure and stable with a good ability to distinguish between the personal and the professional. It is important that you are confident in making your own decisions in your work. The job also involves close teamwork, so you need to have a good ability to collaborate with others and communicate clearly. Since you meet patients and relatives daily, it is also very important that you have an empathetic manner and a good approach.

Our Recruitment Process
