We are now looking for a Product Development Manager who enjoys driving the entire development chain from idea to launched product. About the Role

As Product Development Manager, the focus is on design, technical decisions, and long-term product responsibility - including maintenance of existing products. You have significant authority in technical choices and serve as the company’s primary technical decision-maker. You work closely with the product in all phases and are expected to be confident in making technical decisions that affect both function, quality, and commercial viability. Product development is iterative, where prototypes, testing, and verification in a physical environment are a natural part of the work. The role requires the ability to switch between CAD, testing, troubleshooting, and technical choices based on real observations.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Drive the entire technical product development from idea, concept, and design to launched product.
Be ultimately responsible for design, technical decisions, and the product's technical integrity.
Develop specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
Plan, conduct, or lead technical tests, verification, and troubleshooting.
Work practically in a workshop environment as needed: disassembly, trial assembly, and testing.
Collaborate with the purchasing manager and suppliers regarding manufacturability, quality, and cost optimization.
Support product development technicians in practical activities such as scanning, testing, and trial assembly.
Provide advisory support in product selection and commercial assessments from a technical perspective.
Assist sales and marketing with technical materials for product launches.

The position is located in Nykvarn, just outside Södertälje, and involves limited travel. You report directly to the CEO. Initially, there is no personnel responsibility in the role.

Is This You?

We are looking for someone who wants to be an important cog in a smaller operation and who enjoys switching between strategic product development issues and operational design and testing work in the workshop and on the test track. To be successful in the role, we believe you have:

Further education in mechanics or a related field.
At least five years of relevant experience in CAD design and product development.
Comfortable taking overall technical responsibility throughout the development chain and confident in making technical decisions.
High proficiency in SolidWorks and enjoy working systematically with documented drawings, version control, and testing.
Good knowledge of Swedish and English.

Experience in reverse engineering, 3D scanning, and design of cast components is highly meritorious.
