Kronoberg Remand Prison is a security remand prison located in the heart of Kungsholmen near Rådhuset and a 10-minute walk from the Central Station. The prison has over 300 places and is one of Sweden's largest remand prisons.

The prison has a security department, admissions and custody, care department, as well as communal and restriction departments, and is situated in the police quarter. As an employee, you also have free access to the police gym.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a cook at Kronoberg Remand Prison, you will work in a modern large kitchen and be part of a close-knit team consisting of eight people, led by the kitchen manager. Only prison service staff work in the kitchen, preparing meals for all inmates at the remand prison. All meals are portioned into boxes and delivered in heated carts to the respective departments.

The job responsibilities include typical large kitchen tasks such as planning, preparation, cooking lunch, dinner, and special diets. It also includes regular kitchen tasks distributed within the team, as well as self-control in accordance with applicable legislation.

Working hours are daytime, Monday - Friday, with weekend work approximately every other weekend. You start as early as 06:45 and finish no later than 17:30 according to a rotating schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure and stable. You remain calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment and take personal responsibility for your tasks. To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in human development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect you and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Restaurant or large-scale kitchen education at least at the high school level or other education combined with experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
• The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
• Computer skills.

It is a merit if you have:

• Restaurant or large-scale kitchen education.
• Experience working in a large kitchen for at least five years.
• Experience working with self-control.
• Experience working with special diets.
