Instructor for GBU/FOK

Main Responsibilities

Every year, the GBU (Group Leader Training) and FOK (Preparatory Officer Course) are conducted to further develop the unit's soldiers and prepare future cadets for upcoming officer training. We are now looking for instructors for these courses, which will take place in weeks 26-29 in Halmstad. As an instructor, you will be responsible for conducting various parts of the course, planning training sessions, and following up with students together with the entire leadership team. The training focuses on troop leadership, troop training, and physical combat readiness, combining theoretical and practical education. The students trained will be able to act as group leaders upon completion, making leadership, responsibility, and pedagogy the core of the training.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Professional officer or reserve officer. SO6/7 or OF1/2.
  • Relevant experience in troop training and troop leadership.

Personal Qualities

You are responsible and have a strong initiative. You strive to develop as an instructor and enjoy educating in a pedagogical manner. You are social, easily connect and collaborate with others, and have a good ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing. You are not averse to working under high workload periods and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You need to be a role model and apply the Armed Forces' core values. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment rate: Full-time during weeks 26-29. Additional days for preparations and taking earned leave may occur.
Work location: Uppsala with travel to Halmstad.
Working hours: Primarily daytime. Evening and weekend duties may occur during training activities.
Start date: 2026-06-22 or by agreement.

Uppland Air Wing, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and monitoring of Uppsala Airport as well as training conscripts in various positions within the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, which controls combat aircraft in the air and manages the constant surveillance of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several locations across the country and is a vital part of the growth period the Air Force is undergoing.
