About the assignment

The assignment concerns an assistant project manager role within one of Sweden's most prioritized infrastructure projects. The project involves the extension of an existing railway in a tunnel under central Stockholm, which will significantly improve accessibility and capacity in the public transport system.

The project is currently in an intensive phase of developing the railway plan, environmental permits, and necessary agreements. The planned construction start is 2028. The organization needs reinforcement in planning, permitting, and contractual matters (PTA).

The assignment is placed within the client organization for the project, under the leadership of the PTA project manager.

Assignment description

In the role of assistant project manager for planning, permitting, and contractual matters (PTA), you will be part of the project's client organization. Together with the project manager, you will be responsible for a team of approximately 10 people who plan, lead, manage, follow up, and report on the work within the PTA areas. You will also be responsible for managing two consulting organizations involved in the railway plan and environmental permits.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the project manager in leading the PTA team, planning, and following up on work

  • Manage interfaces with other parts of the organization

  • Create clear frameworks for the work within the project

  • Propose and participate in organizational development

  • Develop information and decision-making materials

  • Review produced materials

  • Plan, lead, and follow up meetings

  • Collaborate with other parts of the project and relevant stakeholders

  • Identify, own, follow up, and report risks related to your part of the organization

Requirements:
  • Education: University degree with a focus on project management or related to planning, environmental, or contractual matters.

  • Professional experience in Planning, Permitting, Contracts: At least 8 years of work experience with either Railway Planning, Environmental Permits, or Contractual Matters, or a combination of these areas.

  • Professional experience in Project Management: At least 2 years of experience in a leading position that included work with railway planning according to the law (1995:1649) on the construction of railways.

  • Public Administration: Experience working in a client role within public administration in a leading position in at least 2 projects or for at least 3 years.

  • Professional experience in Consultation Process: Experience being responsible for or in a leading position in at least 2 public consultations.

Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with at least 1 complex infrastructure project in an urban environment with a project budget of at least 500 million SEK.

  • At least 3 years of experience working with implementation agreements in infrastructure projects.

  • At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
