We are looking for engaged and service-oriented environmental workers for our recycling centers in Norrtälje municipality. As part of our team, you will become a key person in the work of receiving and managing bulky waste, hazardous waste, and reusable materials – always with customer focus and the environment in mind!

Our three recycling centers – Häverö, Görla, and Salmunge – receive hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. We are now seeking more employees who want to contribute to a more sustainable society.

We need to strengthen our team with:

• Summer temporary workers during the period from May to August.

Placement is available at Salmunge Recycling Center, Görla Recycling Center, and Häverö Recycling Center. Flexibility, service mindset, and good collaboration skills are important qualities for us. Please indicate in your application if you have a preferred placement.

About the Position

The customer is always in focus. You are an important face to the public and meet everyone with a professional and friendly demeanor. You guide, inform, and create reassurance that we handle recycling in the best way.

As an environmental worker, you will work both independently and in a team to:

• Welcome and assist customers with sorting and recycling
• Register business visits and perform reception checks
• Operate machines and handle various types of waste
• Reload materials and maintain order at the facility
• Clean surfaces
• Ensure good quality and report any deviations

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Driver's license B
• Computer proficiency
• Good knowledge of Swedish to guide residents and businesses
• Service mindset

Meritorious:

• Experience from the recycling industry or service professions
• Driving license or documented experience operating wheel loaders, material handlers, or excavators

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. You are an engaged, flexible, positive, professional, and service-oriented person with great personal maturity. You take responsibility for both your own and the group's tasks, have an easy time prioritizing, and thrive in an organized work environment.

You communicate easily with customers, managers, and colleagues, and since you work closely with others, good collaboration skills are crucial.

The work is mostly outdoors – therefore, you need to appreciate working in all weather conditions.

About the Workplace

Norrtälje Water and Waste is responsible for the collection and treatment of municipal waste from about 50,000 customers, latrine waste from about 2,700 customers, and sludge waste from about 30,000 individual sewage systems. We are also responsible for planning, developing, and procuring collection and treatment services, as well as developing waste fees, local waste plans, and local regulations for waste management. The collection and transport of municipal waste is handled by contracted entrepreneurs, while the municipality's recycling centers are staffed by our own personnel. Currently, about 22 employees work at the three recycling centers in Norrtälje municipality.
