VME is a municipal company responsible for streets, parks, bridges, traffic planning, street lighting, the municipality's forests, water and sewage, as well as district heating.

The position is located in the operations department, park unit, which manages the operation and maintenance of the municipality's public spaces such as parks, green areas, playgrounds, sports areas, and natural baths.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a park worker with us, you will have a varied job where you, together with a team of park workers, will work outdoors in operations with tasks including:

• Mowing, weeding, pruning, planting, and hedge trimming
• Leaf management and general cleaning of outdoor environments
• Supervision and maintenance of playgrounds, outdoor gyms, sports areas, and ground equipment
• Simpler forest management
• Snow removal and ice control during winter

Use of smaller construction machines belonging to the business may occur. We work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant horticultural education and/or several years of experience in park work or equivalent.
• Is not afraid to work hard when needed and is prepared for the job to be physically demanding at times.
• A valid driver's license for manual transmission is required, as driving is part of the job responsibilities.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in tree pruning and plant inventory
• Good plant knowledge
