Nurse and Regional Coordinator in Pediatric and Adolescent Healthcare

The Pediatric and Adolescent Healthcare in Gävleborg operates outpatient care in Gävle, Bollnäs, and Hudiksvall, as well as inpatient departments in Gävle and Hudiksvall. The operations include general pediatrics and neonatal care, and the children's clinic in Hudiksvall receives children and adolescents aged 0–17 years with medical issues. Day care and home care are also part of the operations, and we work with both planned and acute visits.

With us, you will work in a close, well-functioning, and competent team where collaboration with doctors and other staff is a natural part of everyday life. As a relatively small unit, we have short decision-making paths and good conditions for joint development of the operations.

We are now looking for a nurse for a shared position where the work is divided 60 percent as a nurse within pediatric care in Hudiksvall, and 40 percent as a regional coordinator within the Center for Rare Diagnoses in Central Sweden (CSD).

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a regional coordinator within CSD, you will have an independent and stimulating role with the responsibility to improve the living conditions for individuals with rare health conditions in Region Gävleborg. You will be part of a regional network of CSD coordinators and have close contact with CSD's office in Uppsala, which leads the work. The assignment includes:

  • guiding professionals as well as patients and relatives in healthcare and support systems
  • mapping needs and establishing needs plans with patients and relatives
  • coordinating contacts between healthcare, schools, social services, the Social Insurance Agency, LSS, and more
  • organizing parent meetings, theme days, workshops, and lectures
  • participating in regional and national development work including expert teams
  • contributing to the implementation of care programs, knowledge support, and quality registers.

In the role of nurse, you will primarily work at the pediatric and adolescent clinic in Hudiksvall with usual tasks within general pediatric outpatient care. The position also includes 20 percent work at the children's department in Hudiksvall.

The role also involves:

  • medical preparation, treatment, sampling, and telephone advice
  • participation in day care and home care
  • meetings with children and families with various medical needs
  • close collaboration in the team with a focus on the best interests of the children according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and NOBAB standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role and enjoys working independently while driving their tasks forward, as well as thriving in close collaboration with others. You are structured and communicative, with ease in establishing good contacts with both colleagues and patients. In an environment where conditions can change rapidly, you are flexible and adaptable, contributing a calm, solution-oriented approach even when the pace is high.

In the role of nurse/regional coordinator, you should:

  • be a licensed nurse
  • have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have experience in pediatric care, schools, BVC, emergency care, or rare conditions. It is also advantageous if you have experience in coordination or working with complex care needs. For the position, it is a benefit if you have an established network within healthcare and community actors.
