Join a Specialist Training Program and Study with a Salary!

Region Halland is looking for you who currently work as a nurse and want to develop by furthering your education to become a specialist nurse in the operating room.

As an operating room nurse, you are responsible for perioperative care, caring for the patient before, during, and after surgery in a high-tech environment. You are an important support for both the patient and your colleagues in the operating room. You are responsible for sterility, instrumentation, and you assist the surgeon during the operation, which requires knowledge of the surgical process.

The work as an operating room nurse is both a theoretical and practical profession that is very stimulating and varied. You work in a team with anesthetists, nursing assistants, and surgeons, but you also need to be able to take your own initiatives and work independently.

Training Employment

We offer you a training employment, which means you study to become an operating room nurse with a salary and receive a position at a designated workplace at Hallands Hospital Halmstad or Varberg, where you will then work as a qualified operating room nurse after completing your education.

A training employment can be granted for full-time or part-time study. Distance education is also included as a study form.

Qualifications

To apply for a training employment, you must be a licensed nurse with at least two years of work experience as a nurse within Swedish healthcare. Additionally, you must be accepted into the education at a higher education institution.

You should be able to work independently and take your own initiatives, have an easy time collaborating, and possess a good ability to work in a team. Furthermore, your interaction with patients and colleagues should be professional.

PLEASE NOTE that most higher education institutions have an application period from February 16 to March 16 regarding specialist nurse programs.
