Study a Specialist Training and Earn While You Learn!

Region Halland is looking for you who currently work as a nurse and want to develop by furthering your education to become a specialist nurse in psychiatry.

At Psychiatry Halland, nearly 950 people work together to provide the best possible care for individuals with severe mental illness. We provide specialist psychiatric care, which means we assess, diagnose, treat, care for, and rehabilitate patients.

Our mission includes acute and planned care, forensic psychiatric care, and involuntary psychiatric care. We also provide primary care for children and adolescents with mild to moderate mental health issues.

The psychiatry department is organized into three areas of operation:

• Adult psychiatric inpatient care based at the hospitals in Halmstad and Varberg, as well as forensic psychiatric care in Varberg.
• Adult psychiatric outpatient clinics in all municipalities.
• Age-inclusive eating disorder clinics in Halmstad and Varberg.
• Child and adolescent psychiatric care (Bup) with clinics in all municipalities and an inpatient care unit in Halmstad. This also includes primary care with clinics for Young People's Mental Health in Kungsbacka, Varberg, and Halmstad, as well as a contact center for children's and young people's mental health in Halland.

Training Employment

We offer you a training employment, which means you study to become a psychiatric nurse while retaining your base salary and receive a position at a designated workplace where you will work as a qualified psychiatric nurse after completing your education.

A training employment in psychiatry is granted for part-time study. Distance education is also included as a study form.

Qualifications

To apply for a training employment, you must be a licensed nurse with at least two years of work experience as a nurse within Swedish healthcare. Additionally, you must be accepted into the education at a higher education institution.

You should be able to work independently and take initiative, have an easy time collaborating, and possess a good ability to work in a team. Furthermore, your interactions with patients and colleagues should be professional.
