Job Description
Do you want to help shape the sustainable society of the future? Then AFRY is the workplace for you!
With us, you will be part of an engaged team working broadly with community development. We are driven by creating attractive, inclusive, and sustainable cities and communities. Our clients include municipalities, regions, and government agencies, as well as private actors.
As a Technical Manager, you will play a central role in projects. You will be responsible for budget, timeline, quality, and the technical design within your discipline – from planning to execution. Since assignments vary from pure measurement tasks to multidisciplinary projects, the responsibilities may differ depending on the assignment. Common to all types of assignments is that you lead and plan your technology, including fieldwork. You support other consultants and subcontractors and ensure that our deliveries meet the client's requirements and technical standards. The assignments range from smaller local projects to larger, long-term, and complex assignments that span several years.
In your role, you will collaborate closely with the client, other technical areas, and various stakeholders to create integrated and sustainable solutions that meet the project's needs.
You will be based in one of our offices in Örebro, Västerås, or Uppsala.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in civil engineering or equivalent relevant work experience in civil engineering. You have at least five years of experience in measurement technology. You have good knowledge of economics and business acumen and experience managing budgets and resources with sound financial insight. We also see that you have a good understanding of the laws, standards, and technical guidelines that govern the industry, and that you can ensure that our projects comply with applicable regulations and maintain high technical quality.
To succeed in this role, you need to have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as you will collaborate with both national and international actors.
As we continuously work with international partners, it is advantageous if you have experience leading employees in other countries.
Measurement technical qualification type II is a plus.
In summary, we are looking for an engaged, structured, and technically skilled leader who wants to ensure that our projects not only meet today's requirements but also contribute to shaping the sustainable societies of the future.
Additional Information
As a consultant with us, you will never be alone in your assignment. Here, you step into an organization where strong teamwork, open knowledge-sharing spaces, and a broad professional network are givens.
You will have access to experienced colleagues, specialist expertise, mentorship, and several internal networks that help you grow – both in your role and in your projects. Whether you need a sounding board, technical expertise, methodological support, or just someone to discuss ideas with, the support structures are already in place.
We believe that the consultant's strength comes from the combination of personal drive and a solid foundation to lean on. Therefore, we offer:
- Support from an engaged team that follows you through all phases of the assignment
- Several competence networks where you meet colleagues with similar focus areas
- A culture that encourages collaboration, learning, and generosity
- Access to both local and national networks, so you can always find the right expertise near you
With us, you are part of something bigger – a context where your ideas are valued, where you can develop, and where we together create the best possible delivery to our clients.
