About Us

Thoraxcentrum operates at Blekingesjukhuset Karlskrona.

The clinic has approximately 230 employees with various competencies within care, intensive care, and radiology departments as well as outpatient and surgical services.

At Thoraxoperation, about 20 employees work as anesthesiology nurses, surgical nurses, and perfusionists. In addition, we have thoracic anesthesiologists, cardiologists with specialist competence in arrhythmia, and thoracic surgeons working with us.

Thoraxcentrum provides highly specialized cardiac and lung surgical healthcare as well as care in the areas of invasive electrophysiology, pacemaker, ICD/CRT, invasive cardiology/PCI, and TAVI.

About the Job

Region Blekinge invests in educational positions with academic specialist training for nurses aimed at further enhancing competence in prioritized areas for better patient care. You will be employed in a permanent full-time position as a nurse.

The educational position lasts for one year with full-time studies, and you will receive a monthly salary as a nurse during your study period. You are entitled to contractual vacation and salary in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.

After completing the education, you will be placed in a position as an anesthesiology nurse at Thoraxoperation in Karlskrona. We offer a stimulating and educational work environment based on our values - commitment, quality, and collaboration. Employment as a specialist nurse occurs after successful completion of the education, effective from the date the institution issues the diploma.

Region Blekinge will assign all permanent staff to emergency positions.

About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse who is applying and is accepted into the specialist nursing program with a focus on anesthesiology nursing starting in the autumn semester of 2026. Please note that the application deadline at the university may be as early as March. Nurses accepted into the training from the local area will be prioritized for these positions.

You have a drive to work with development and improvements and see it as a challenge to undertake your specialist training closely linked to the operations you will be working in. As a person, you have the ability to see the big picture, want to work cross-professionally, and have good collaboration skills. It is an advantage if you have several years of clinical experience as a nurse. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Applicants who are considered for employment must present a certificate from the Police Authority's criminal record before employment, as handling medication is part of the job.
