District Nurse to Jönköping Municipality

Jönköping Municipality is a large employer with hundreds of different job roles. We are growing in line with the city's development with more residents, more housing, and a larger range of services. We are always on the lookout for new talent - employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences, united by the common drive to create a better city to visit, live, work, and reside in.

Are you a nurse or district nurse?

Are you a nurse or district nurse with experience in the target group of mental disabilities? Do you want to help develop Sweden's ninth largest municipality in this area? Then you have a job to apply for.

Your new job

We are now looking for a nurse or district nurse for the municipality's psychiatric team (KPT), part of HS-team 6, which is responsible for specific care for people with mental disabilities in special housing and daily activities within social psychiatry. The health and medical care responsibility includes both psychiatric and somatic care, although the target group primarily has a psychiatric disability.

You will be responsible for both planned and acute health and medical care interventions for both younger and older patients and have close collaboration with both primary and specialist care to achieve high-quality care. There will also be work with other patient groups in the municipality during evening and weekend shifts.

As a district nurse, you will independently make medical assessments, treatments, and interventions. Since the patients' care needs vary, so do the tasks, ranging from common to more advanced interventions. This includes assessing mental well-being, medication evaluation, sampling, wound care, preventive work, and health and medical care interventions such as dialysis, infusions, and management of tracheostomy, CVK/venous ports, and drainage. Specialist competence is available in palliative care, wound care, and dementia.

Documentation, medication management, and conducting training are central parts of your work. In your role as a district nurse, you will actively collaborate both internally and externally.

Your qualifications

  • You are a licensed nurse. You also have further training as a district nurse.
  • You have worked for a few years in the profession to fit this role.
  • You have experience working with the target group of mental disabilities.
  • You have good knowledge of Swedish - reading comprehension, speaking, and writing.
  • You are computer literate.
  • You have good physical mobility since the work takes place in home environments, which means you need to adapt your working methods based on the conditions available.
  • A valid driver's license (B) is required.

When it comes to your personal competencies, we believe that you are adaptable to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You are good at planning and organizing and prioritize your work independently and effectively. As a person, you are calm and have the ability to focus on the right things even in pressured situations; you have an empathetic approach and are quality-conscious in your work. You value good collaboration with your colleagues. We place great importance on personal suitability!

We offer you

When you start in a role with us, we will agree on an introduction program tailored to your experiences and prior knowledge. You will also receive guidance from more experienced colleagues. We work with a close trust-based leadership, which means you have the freedom to independently plan and structure your workday.

As an employee with us, you will have access to wellness benefits, paid vacation in your first year of employment, and a generous flexible working hours agreement. The health and medical care function offers relocation assistance for those living outside Jönköping County.
