Drivers Wanted for Transport Service

The Technical and Property Management Department is responsible for the municipality's premises, properties, and technical infrastructure – from planning new construction projects to operation, maintenance, and development. We work with water and sewage, cleaning services, land services, transport, and vehicle services. Our goal is to build and manage sustainably and climate-smart to ensure a safe and functioning everyday life for the residents of Botkyrka. We are about 300 employees who, in our various roles, work with solutions based on citizens' needs and the municipality's common goals.

The Position and Responsibilities

Transport Service needs to expand with hourly employees who can step in during sickness and holiday periods.

As a driver with us, you will transport school children with disabilities, seniors going to day activities, and users with disabilities going to daily activities. You are responsible for the vehicle you drive and for the safety of the passengers. During certain periods, you may need to deliver internal mail or act as a courier.

You will inform traffic management and travelers of traffic disruptions and deviations. Your responsibilities also include ensuring that the vehicle is clean and in good condition and reporting vehicle faults and damages. Since you have ultimate responsibility for everyone in the vehicle, you should have a good ability to work independently and take initiative within the scope of your position. You are the face of the municipality when you meet the citizens.

Introduction

We offer you a personalized introduction of about 5-10 days, depending on your previous experience. You will also receive guidance where you will ride along with our experienced drivers, an introduction to traffic management, and your supervisor.

Working Hours

You will be booked as needed, and this can happen at short notice. You will work Monday to Friday. Our need is for you to be able to drive at some time between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Split shifts may occur. No evenings, weekends, or public holidays.

Who We Are Looking For

Requirements:

• Driver's license with category B
• You should also be able to independently handle and solve challenges along the way.
• Be a proactive problem solver, stress-resistant, and flexible.
• You need to communicate in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Be comfortable managing your drives through an app on a mobile phone
• It is important that you have a very good ability to collaborate and communicate, as you have a significant responsibility for people with disabilities, school children, seniors, and users in a transport situation.

Meritorious:

• If you have documented experience in transport services or medical transport
• If you speak multiple languages
• If you have good local knowledge of Botkyrka municipality and Stockholm County
