Social Worker for Neuropsychiatric Reception

The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Norrland with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units.

We are looking for a Social Worker for the Neuropsychiatric Reception. Our reception is a psychiatric specialist care unit that conducts diagnosis and treatment for individuals aged 18 and over with neuropsychiatric diagnoses, where ADHD and autism are the largest patient groups. We work based on national care programs and with a team-based approach, which we believe provides the best conditions for good and safe care.

We work in modern newly built premises. Here, nurses, social workers, caregivers, psychologists, doctors, medical secretaries, and occupational and physiotherapists work closely together. With us, you will work daytime, Monday to Friday in a nice and modern environment with friendly and competent colleagues.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Social Worker with us, you will have a stimulating and varied job within both the reception and acute flow. The work is diverse and takes place in close collaboration with other professionals in the team. The needs of the patients sometimes mean that we may need to meet the patient at home or in other locations. With us, collegial support is important, and as a newcomer, you will have a mentor during the onboarding period. You will be offered supervision and further education based on the needs of the organization and yourself.

Your main job responsibilities include:

• Assessing and planning care based on the patient's needs
• Following up and evaluating social interventions, e.g., SIP
• Working comprehensively in the reception and in the acute patient flow
• Contributing the psychosocial perspective in psychiatric care
• Collaboration with various care-related neighbors
• Providing social guidance for the patient
• Rehabilitation coordination

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a warm personality who enjoys teamwork.

Requirements: Degree in Social Work, preferably licensed health and medical care social worker.

It is an advantage if you have a license as a Health and Medical Care Social Worker and previous experience working with mental health issues and with individuals who have neuropsychiatric disabilities.
