Description

We are looking for two summer interns for the wastewater unit of the Water and Wastewater Department.

The Water and Wastewater Department of Karlstad Municipality is responsible for the municipality's water and wastewater facilities. We produce drinking water, treat wastewater, and manage stormwater. Additionally, we ensure a functioning pipeline network. In the wastewater unit, we are 18 people, both technicians and engineers, who have the important task of treating the wastewater of Karlstad residents. We are now looking for girls and boys who want to help manage our facilities during the summer.

Job Responsibilities

You will perform simpler practical operational technician tasks, such as flushing basins, general maintenance of the facility in both outdoor and indoor environments (painting, cleaning, weeding, etc.) as well as assisting and supporting regular staff. The tasks will be carried out at all our facilities, both smaller and larger treatment plants and wastewater pumping stations. You will start from Sjöstadsverket, Karlstad Municipality's largest wastewater treatment plant, but will also work in our surrounding areas in Vålberg, Skåre, and Molkom.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is interested in the environment and technology. We prefer that you have graduated from or are in your final year of a technical or practical high school. You may also have ongoing or completed post-secondary education (university or vocational school) in technology, operations and maintenance, or environmental studies. You must be at least 18 years old and have a B driver's license.

We place great importance on your personal qualities and value that you are proactive, initiative-taking, and communicative. You should enjoy working practically and outdoors. Safety is important at our facilities, so you should be responsible and able to easily follow instructions.

Warm welcome with your application!

When you apply for a job with us, you will be asked to provide your CV and answer a number of questions where we ask you to describe your competence in the requested area. This means that you should not attach a cover letter as part of your application.
