Do you love food and are ready for a career where people are at the center? At City Gross, everything we do is about helping and inspiring our customers to a better everyday life. Our heart beats a little extra for fresh produce, and we believe in people. We believe we become better when we have different backgrounds and experiences. Whether you are showcasing freshly harvested vegetables, cutting a perfect piece of meat, ensuring that the shelves are always well-stocked, or creating campaigns that meet our customers' needs, everyone here is here for one reason: to create an amazing customer experience.
About the job
Position: Permanent employment for 33.5 hours a week, probationary employment applies.
Start date: By agreement.
Working hours: Early mornings, daytime, late evenings, and weekends are a natural part of the job.
We welcome applicants of all ages, but due to the Work Environment Act, you must be at least 18 years old to work in the Fish and Delicatessen department.
You put the finishing touch on the customer experience
You have the chance to make a significant impact on our customers' visits, so you have an important task in making the customer experience smooth and pleasant. This can mean a friendly smile, an unexpected question, or a helpful attitude, so that the customer finds their way in the store. You should ensure that the customer leaves satisfied - preferably with an extra item in their bag and a good feeling!
What will you do?
Every day brings new meetings and challenges, but some of your main tasks are:
- Ensure that the daily operations on the shop floor run smoothly by leading and distributing the work.
- Be a role model in customer interactions and inspire colleagues to ensure that our customers leave the store with a world-class customer experience.
- In collaboration with the Sales Manager, be responsible for planning, following up, and developing the work in the department.
- Work on coordinating resources and ensuring that competence is used effectively to achieve set goals.
- Contribute to offering our customers a fresh and inviting fish department.
- Collaborate with colleagues throughout the store – we are a team and help where needed!
You report to the Sales Manager for Fresh Produce, who has personnel responsibility for the department.
Who are you?
You are a natural problem solver who enjoys a fast-paced environment. A friendly hello and a desire to inspire and develop other people is a given for you. Do you have a strong interest in fresh produce and selling goods? Great! Do you have previous leadership experience – even better!
We believe you:
- Have a high school education and are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written. Since our customers speak more languages than that, it’s fantastic if you do too.
- Have a couple of years of previous experience working in retail or sales over the counter in the fish area.
- If you have previous experience in leadership, store economics, and sales, it is an advantage.
- If you have previous education in the field or are a trained chef/cold food specialist, it is an advantage.
- Love meeting customers and believe that service should be genuine and engaging.
What do you get?
- Secure conditions – We have collective agreements with Handels and Unionen.
- Affordable food package – You get employee discounts on everything from luxurious weekend dinners to quick everyday lifesavers.
- Parental leave with extra security - we offer enhanced parental benefits according to collective agreements so you can enjoy your new family member a little extra.
- Healthier and more energetic body and mind – We care about your health and offer wellness benefits so you can stay active in the way that suits you best.
- Real career opportunities – With us, there is a chance to grow! Many of our store managers started just where you are now.
Does this sound like something for you? Submit your application – we look forward to meeting you!
