About the role

As a recycling center employee, you are the knowledgeable guide and the smile that welcomes our visitors, as well as motivating them to make more sustainable choices. Together with your colleagues, you will run our facilities before, during, and after our opening hours to create added value for our customers.

Your role and responsibilities

As a recycling center employee, you will work at all recycling centers in the municipality and together with your colleagues be the face of Hässleholm Miljö. Your main responsibility is to welcome, guide, and inspire our visitors to reuse and recycle.

The days in this role are varied and characterized by personal responsibility. In addition to providing service to our visitors, the job includes maintaining the facility, sorting waste that has been misplaced, handling hazardous waste, and occasionally some simpler administration. We collaborate across boundaries within and outside our business area, which is why we appreciate that you are a flexible person open to varied assignments.

A lively and energetic person who cares that visitors to our recycling centers leave with a positive experience. The social contacts require good verbal skills in Swedish, and reading comprehension in Swedish is also required to understand instructions and safety regulations. If you are multilingual, we see that as valuable in the role! It is important that you enjoy being the face of Hässleholm Miljö, where you meet residents/visitors in a pleasant, humble, and informative manner.

Your background:

We prefer that you have completed upper secondary education and some form of experience in service and customer interaction. Since you need to be able to reach all our recycling centers, you must have a valid B driver's license and access to a car. It is also advantageous if you have forklift and/or wheel loader licenses.

Conditions and application

We are looking for 2-3 people for each employment form. Working hours range from weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Setup for the different employment forms

Summer substitute: During the summer vacation, we need to ensure good staffing, and you will therefore cover for regular staff during their vacation. The position is full-time.
Temporary substitute: during spring, summer, and autumn, we are looking for someone who wants to work a little extra and cover for regular staff during absences such as illness, parental leave, or similar. The hours are not guaranteed, and you will be asked about the possibility of working when the need arises. Scheduled weekend work during peak season may also be relevant.

The Waste Management business area is responsible for the collection and treatment of municipal waste in Hässleholm. The assignment also includes operating six recycling centers and informing residents about waste issues. We ensure that waste collection works smoothly for both individuals and businesses, and that it is easy to reuse and recycle as much as possible. We also want to inspire and convey knowledge so that together we can solve the waste challenge at home.
