About the Role and Your Responsibilities

We are now looking for seasonal employees for waste management in the urban area of Lund and the surrounding villages.

You will work with waste management, trimming, and sweeping in the street environment and on pedestrian and bicycle paths in Lund municipality. The position includes both manual and mechanical work. The season runs from April to October, and working hours are from 05:30 to 14:00. You will be part of a team where you work together with others in small groups, but also independently. We Are Looking for You

We are looking for someone who has completed upper secondary education in fields such as construction and civil engineering, vehicle and transport programs, or equivalent vocational training with a focus on the construction and civil engineering sector, or relevant experience deemed appropriate by the employer. You have a few years of work experience in the profession and have had similar responsibilities and experience in service, along with technical competence in the construction and civil engineering sector. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. A B driver's license is required, and you should be able to navigate to various geographical destinations using a vehicle computer.

As a person, you are service-oriented and can work independently as well as collaborate with others. You have a good understanding of the importance of safety and are attentive to workplace risks in daily outdoor work.

About the Workplace

The Street Unit is part of the Department of Street, Park, and Nature, which is responsible for the operation and maintenance of public land and nature and recreational areas in Lund municipality.

We are 28 people in the street unit who work with road maintenance, operation and maintenance of streets and pedestrian and bicycle paths, handling excavation permits, waste management, and winter road maintenance, street lighting, parking permits, traffic arrangement plans, land leases, bridge constructions, fault reporting, and feedback management, as well as the tramway between Lund-ESS, which we manage the operation and maintenance of.

We in the street unit work together to develop the operations and Lund municipality. The unit is characterized by broad competence and a team spirit based on trust and joy. Development issues are important to us with the goal of further strengthening Lund as an attractive municipality to live and work in.

We continuously work on improvements in work processes and in collaboration with internal and external actors. The Community Building Administration is responsible for a broad range of activities covering the entire community building process. With about 350 engaged and competent employees, we work with everything from urban planning, land management, and development to building permits, environmental supervision, and nature conservation. We develop and manage the public environment and contribute to sustainable urban development that includes outdoor life, water conservation, and nature protection.
