Water and Wastewater Technician for Waste VA Sector

The Waste VA Sector is a pleasant workplace with dedicated employees looking forward to an exciting future.

The sector works with both waste and water and is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, waste facilities, recycling centers, and more.

We now need to expand our staff and are looking for a Water and Wastewater Technician for the Pipeline Unit.

Your New Job

As a Water and Wastewater Technician, you play an important role in the operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater network. Your tasks will include new construction/renovation of the water and wastewater network, as well as operation and investigation work on the pipeline network. On-call duty is included in the position.

Common Tasks

• New construction/renovation of the water and wastewater pipeline network.
• Operation of the pipeline network.
• Investigation work on the pipeline network.
• On-call duty.
• Repairing water leaks.
• Leak detection.

Your Competence

Requirements:

• Education in water and wastewater or civil engineering or equivalent competence.
• Cooperative and proactive.
• Experience in reading blueprints.
• Experience in pipe laying in the ground.
• Positive attitude and practical skills.
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Good computer skills.
• Driver's license B.

The employment is classified in a security class. This means that before you are employed by Östersund Municipality, a security review and background check will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

Meritorious:

• YKB (Professional Driver Certificate).
• Driver's license higher than B.
• Excavator operator training.
• Safe excavation.
• Diploma course in pipe technology.

We Are Looking For You

As a person, you are expected to be proactive, willing to take on significant responsibility, and demonstrate a good ability to work in a team as well as being self-sufficient while being loyal to decisions made. You see the bigger picture and are quality-conscious.

Extensive experience in laying and/or operating water and wastewater pipes is an advantage.

In the selection process, great emphasis will be placed on both experience in the field and your personal qualities such as attitude, proactivity, and other personal traits.

Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
