Summer Substitute as Animal Keeper at Sötåsen

The Nature Schools Axevalla Horse Center, Svenljunga, Sötåsen, Uddetorp, and the Biological Vocational College serve as competence centers for the growth and development of the green industries. Description

In the picturesque Sötåsen outside Töreboda, you will find a center for ecological and sustainable nature management.

Here we operate an ecological and KRAV-approved farm with the help of a solid fleet of machinery and the latest technology for sustainable crop production. The school cultivates 260 hectares of arable land, 115 hectares of its own forest, and organic garden cultivation. The farm has 65 dairy cows, 60 young stock, 45 ewes with lambs, and 40 sows with piglets. Here at Sötåsen, you can study the Nature Management Program with a focus on agriculture, animals, and gardening. The school also has an adapted high school and adult education programs.

Job Responsibilities

As an animal keeper at Sötåsen, you will plan and carry out the daily care of the school's farm animals together with your team. The work primarily involves practical tasks in the barns with cows, sheep, and pigs. Responsibilities include milking, feeding, and daily routines. You will be part of and collaborate with colleagues in the team.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is meticulous, development-oriented, and goal-driven. You have a basic education in agriculture and experience in practical farming work. You have both good knowledge and a strong interest in farm animals. As an animal keeper with us, we want you to be characterized by openness, a lack of pretentiousness, and a strong willingness to develop and collaborate.

A driver's license for a manual transmission is required. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Conditions

We are looking for two summer substitutes for our regular staff during the period 260601-260930. It is a vacation position with 100% employment rate, and the work is scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. There is an opportunity for weekend work or hourly substitutes already during the spring.
