to apply for the job

Are you driven by solving problems and making processes more stable, smarter, and safer – every day? At Sandvik Coromant in Gimo, you will have an independent, hands-on role close to our production where you will further develop our processes and equipment in pressing.

You will be a key person in ensuring high quality and efficiency here and now, while also driving long-term improvements over time. Welcome!

About the job

In this role, you will work practically and data-driven in an environment where the condition of machines and process parameters directly affect the product's properties. You will have close contact with operators, technicians, engineers, and translate observations and data into stable working methods to help us maintain pace in our daily operations.

Your responsibilities:

  • Improve and further develop production based on quality, productivity, and availability.
  • Ensure optimal function in our machinery, including troubleshooting, preventive measures, and systematic root cause analysis.
  • Upgrade and replace machines and equipment as needed – from preparation to stable operation in the line.
  • Take over new products and equipment into production within development projects.

Your background and personality

We are looking for an engineer with a degree in mechanical engineering or technical physics combined with a few years of experience in industrial production or process technology. To thrive in this role, you need a practical understanding of how machines, process parameters, and production flows are interconnected; you are used to working closely with equipment, following up on quality, and managing deviations in a methodical way. It is important that you feel comfortable in an industrial environment where safety, order, and responsibility are fundamental. You communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

We consider it an advantage if you have experience in pressing or machining and if you have previously worked practically in production. Experience in improving processes, conducting root cause analyses, or working with tools such as 5-Why, SPC, PDCA, or similar is also a plus, as well as if you have been involved in machine upgrades or new installations.

Your personality matters a lot. You take initiative, show ownership, and drive issues forward both in fast-paced situations and in long-term improvements. You are curious and want to understand how things really work to be able to develop them, and you have an analytical approach where you combine data, observations, and experience to create stable solutions. You are unpretentious and naturally collaborate with people around you, creating trust through clear communication and presence in production.

About your new team

We are a team of ten employees consisting of technicians and engineers who together are responsible for the overall process between tool manufacturing and pressing, and you will act as a bridge between the two. Our culture is characterized by innovation, knowledge sharing, and a strong team spirit. We believe in providing you with a clear introduction and support to give you the right conditions to grow into the role and take responsibility.
