Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant. Contributing to societal development is even greater. With us, you can do both. We are now looking for two plant operators for our mobile asphalt plants within the area of responsibility for Laying North. The operations are mainly conducted in Västerbotten, Norrbotten, Västernorrland, and Jämtland counties. At Svevia, we combine the close collaboration and strong team spirit of a small company with the security and stability of a large company. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop as a specialist in road construction, focusing on engagement, collaboration, and personal responsibility.
Your role as a plant operatorAn asphalt plant is typically staffed by two people, but the work will still give you an independent role in daily operations.
As a plant operator, you will be responsible for controlling and monitoring the manufacturing process, as well as conducting checks and tests. You will handle ongoing service and maintenance of the facility and be responsible for ordering and inventory management of raw materials. The job also involves some customer contact and production follow-up.
The work in asphalt is seasonal, focusing on the summer months. We offer a seasonal employment with the possibility of extension.
Your place of employment can be in any of the following counties: Västerbotten, Norrbotten, Västernorrland, or Jämtland. Please specify your preferred location in your application.
Who are you?We are looking for someone with practical experience in industrial manufacturing and good mechanical skills. You should have at least a high school education, preferably with a focus on industry or machinery. A driver's license (B) is required, and training or certification for wheel loaders is an advantage.
You have a strong interest in technology and mechanics, are used to working with machines, and have good computer skills. As a person, you are responsible, organized, and solution-focused, and you enjoy both customer contact and working independently.
Part of something biggerSvevia's industrial division is in an expansive phase, and the ambitions are high. The goal is to be a leading player in paving in Sweden.
Behind every road lies more than the obvious surface: a whole industry of knowledge and delivery capability. Our offering is an industrial process. From stone to finished road.
It all starts with a quarry, which then becomes ballast, which in turn is used in the production of asphalt, which is finally laid on the road. With over 100 own quarries, our own production of asphalt, bitumen emulsion, and thermoplastics, we have a breadth that no one else has. In our laboratories, we conduct material analyses to ensure that products meet standards and requirements. Our skilled teams in milling, paving, tank coating, and road marking ensure that the delivery is complete.
Why Svevia? With us, you quickly become part of the team, and we care about being a workplace for everyone. Decision-making paths are short, and it is easy to make your voice heard. At the same time, you become part of a practical reality and a company where concrete results are created with steaming asphalt machines, large snowplows, and tons of rebar and concrete. With your expertise, you can make a difference on the road. And we always prioritize safety – both with care for your own work environment and the safety of others.
For those who want to take the next step in their development, there are many opportunities. Whether you want to deepen your knowledge in your specific area or move on to a supervisory position.
Together, we make cities and countryside function. Do you want to share the road with us?
Application and informationYou can easily apply by sending your CV and answering a few selection questions. Our recruitment process is based on a competency-based approach, which is a prerequisite for recruiting quality, inclusively, and without bias. Therefore, we do not require a cover letter.
