The Open Youth Activities Youth Centers in Malung-Sälen Municipality

The Youth Centers in Malung, Lima, and Sälen are available for youth from grades 5-6, grades 7-9, and high school. We offer open activities where you can try something new or do what you already enjoy. We have cafeteria services, a variety of board games, video games, table tennis, billiards, a small cinema, a small gym, and a mini spa area, as well as a technology and creation room.

In addition to being present at the fixed Youth Centers, we organize activities, events, and excursions at various locations outside the centers and meet up at places where youth are present. We also manage break activities at the Central School in Malung.

We have a close collaboration with the Culture School, where their teachers are involved in our activities during certain times and weekdays.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for driven and creative employees who want to help develop our activities. The role includes building relationships with youth through conversations and activities, and taking into account their opinions and views on how the activities should be developed.

The role includes: Planning, implementing, and evaluating activities for youth. Creating a safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome. Collaborating with schools, parents, and other stakeholders to support youth development. The focus of the role is always prioritized based on what best creates a meaningful leisure time for the municipality's youth. You will be part of a team that together staffs the municipality's youth centers and activities. It also includes taking care of the centers.

Working hours vary but are during the Open Youth Activities Youth Centers' opening hours, which are afternoons/evenings Monday to Saturday.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in youth and youth issues and who has also worked with children and youth.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge in dance/music, nails/make-up, or technology/programming. We prefer candidates with training as a leisure leader or other training that we consider equivalent.

Your way of working is based on the needs of the youth. As a person, you are service-oriented, proactive, and can work independently as well as in a team. You are a reliable and stable adult who is comfortable collaborating with other stakeholders.

You have good experience in handling computers and social media. Good knowledge of Swedish is a requirement. You must have a B driver's license for a manual transmission.
