Job Responsibilities

As a nursing assistant in intensive care, you will care for critically ill patients with failure in vital functions, which means that these patients are often sedated and have a great need for care and monitoring.

At IVA, we care for a variety of medical conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure, pain problems, cardiac arrest, trauma, and many other diagnoses. The department has a lot of technical equipment that nursing assistants also handle. Since we are a medium-sized hospital without a university hospital in our region, we can prepare everything from children to trauma with us before transport to larger hospitals when more specialized care is required.

In postop, the pace is varied as the flow is determined by need. We primarily care for patients who are admitted to the hospital. The varied flow is governed by the day's procedures and how long the various procedures take. This also means that you should have a sense of logistics and enjoy moments with a higher work pace.

We have invested in internal training and have repeated training sessions during the weeks as well as training days once per semester. We have simulation exercises regularly to practice different scenarios and collaboration.

About the Workplace

At IVA Varberg, about 70 nurses and nursing assistants work together. Our department is a general ICU with 6 beds. We also have a postoperative unit with 12 beds for inpatient surgery. Since IVA and Postop are part of our operations, the work is varied and offers you as a nursing assistant the opportunity to work based on your entire competence.

We offer a fantastic and developing workplace with competent colleagues who work with the patient at the center. We have a fantastic outdoor area where patients can be mobilized directly from the operating room, and staff can take both coffee breaks and lunch outside. The relatives' areas are very generous, and we also have a very beautiful farewell room.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant with experience in emergency care. If you lack experience, you need to have completed the following courses:

• Emergency Care/Nursing, 200 credits
• Medicine 2, 100 credits

Proof of education is required.

To ensure good and safe communication with colleagues, patients, and other contacts, we require good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
