Librarian Wanted at Piteå City Library

Do you want to work on promoting the library's activities and create magical encounters with literature?

Piteå City Library is looking for a librarian to work with communication and marketing of the library's activities to the residents of Piteå. Here, you will have the opportunity to combine creativity with strategic planning – by communicating all the exciting things that make the library a vibrant place for children, families, and other visitors.

Responsibilities

As a librarian at Piteå City Library, in addition to regular duties, you will work with communication and marketing of the library's services and activities for both children and adults. You will manage the library's social media and produce posters, printed materials, and advertisements. Together with the library's program group, children's librarians, and other staff, you will plan how to reach out with the library's services to the residents of Piteå. You will contribute to making the library an obvious meeting place in the community.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in library and information science or another higher education qualification at least at the bachelor's level that the employer considers equivalent. We prefer candidates with good knowledge of communication work and marketing. You should be outgoing, proactive, and independent, interested in making new contacts, and enjoy collaborating with others. We place great emphasis on personal competence.

A driver's license is required.

About the Position

This is a permanent full-time position. Evening and solo work is included. Start date by agreement. Upon employment, we require a background check.

Piteå Library is part of the Culture, Parks, and Recreation Department and consists of the city library, five local libraries, and a book bus that provides services to the entire municipality. There are 25 people working within the library services.
