Summer Temporary Environmental Technician for Recycling Centers
We are looking for summer temp workers starting June 1 or by agreement.
The temporary position is from June 15 to August 16, with an introduction period before that.
The Waste Facilities unit within the technical administration of Östersund Municipality operates and develops the Recycling Centers in Odenskog, Brunflo, and Lit, as well as the Waste Facility at Gräfsåsen. The Recycling Centers are tasked with collecting household waste, such as residual waste, electronics, and hazardous waste.
For the position of environmental technician at Waste Recycling, we are looking for someone who is service-oriented and engaged in environmental issues. As an environmental technician, you will be part of a team of 8 people at the recycling centers. The work is scheduled and includes evenings and weekends.
Job Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Informing customers about sorting issues
- Ensuring the operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of the recycling centers in Odenskog, Brunflo, and Lit
- Administrative tasks such as statistics and orders
- Collecting hazardous waste from municipal operations and sorting at the Recycling Centers
- Working with a wheel loader
Qualifications
- You are outgoing and enjoy talking to people.
- You work well in a small team and take initiative.
- You are engaged in environmental issues and want to share your knowledge.
Other qualities we are looking for include organizational skills, a pedagogical approach, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
You should have a suitable high school education or equivalent competence deemed appropriate by the employer. Experience in the service sector or similar is also preferred.
A valid driver's license (B) is required. Computer skills, ADR training, and a wheel loader certificate are advantageous.
