Distriktsveterinärerna is hiring an Animal Care Assistant
Are you ready to work in a community-supporting organization? Are you a positive team player who enjoys working with varied tasks?
To ensure that all animals in Sweden have the conditions to live the best life possible, there are the District Veterinarians. With around-the-clock readiness, clinics across the country, and unique knowledge of animal health, we contribute to healthier animals and a safer life. As district veterinarians, we work on behalf of individuals, companies, and authorities. We offer community-supporting services for emergency veterinary care, disease control, and preventive measures for good animal health. Always with our feet on the ground and our hearts in the right place. The District Veterinarians are part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
Within the District Veterinarians, we can offer you a variety of development opportunities, involvement, and above all, many friendly colleagues. Do you want to help create community value? Then you can seize the chance to work in a unique and varied organization where you can make a difference. Our clinic is beautifully located in an old barn in Lyckeby, right on the outskirts of the beautiful coastal town of Karlskrona. The city is built on islands and is a popular holiday destination during the summer.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for a driven animal care assistant for our newly renovated clinic with a newly built surgical department. We primarily have small animal and equine operations but also some cattle practice.
Our small animal clinic consists of a surgical department with gas anesthesia and dental radiography, and a clinic with radiography, endoscopy, ultrasound, and a fully equipped lab. The equine clinic has a examination stall, ultrasound, radiography, endoscopy, and complete dental equipment. There is also access to a riding arena.
Currently, eight veterinarians, three licensed veterinary nurses, and five animal care assistants work at the clinic. We are a cheerful team that works well together and helps each other in all situations.
With us, there are usually three veterinarians on duty at the small animal clinic every day along with animal care assistants and licensed veterinary nurses. We have both planned and emergency operations during the day. Every week we have scheduled surgery days.
Depending on your qualifications/experience, your tasks will include: reception work, patient-related work in the form of assistance to veterinarians in clinical work, own patients such as nail trimming, suture removal, etc., as well as other clinic work such as instrument and facility maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who, like us, enjoys working together to ensure that customers have a positive experience during their visit. You are stable, ambitious, have a positive attitude, and want to develop together with your colleagues. You should be easy to collaborate with and be flexible as our work is often event-driven. Previous experience in a small animal clinic is an advantage.
You should be an educated animal care assistant level 2 or level 3. A B driver's license is a requirement.
Warm welcome with your application!
Selection and interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period.
