At the cardiology department in Falun, we work broadly within the field of cardiology. The department includes both outpatient and inpatient care, which means we work across boundaries to best support the operations and investigate patients. At the heart clinic, we perform investigations in clinical physiology (ECHO, arrhythmia detection, exercise testing, ergospirometry, TILT, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, sleep studies, and pacemaker checks, etc.), pacemaker surgeries, and coronary interventions. We also have a research unit conducting clinical trials.

We collaborate extensively between departments and are proud of the sense of closeness and the ease of asking for and offering help to each other. The workplace is characterized by teamwork, joy at work, and varying work pace, including on-call duties. Therefore, it is important that you also enjoy mobility and flexible working conditions.

As a resident physician, you will work with cardiac intensive care in a general cardiology ward and heart clinic. If interested, you also have the opportunity to specialize in different areas within the department's fields. In your position, you are also expected to be responsible for supervision and teaching. Training in general internal medicine is conducted in collaboration with the medical clinic at Falu Hospital and other relevant units. The position also includes rotation training at a university hospital to achieve the goals as a specialist in cardiology according to the goal description.

Together with other departments within Health and Medical Care, you will participate as a resident physician in a joint on-call service at the emergency department. This on-call line is staffed around the clock with shared responsibility for medical, cardiac, infectious, and geriatric patients.

We have close collaboration within specialized cardiology with other hospitals in Dalarna, and temporary work at another location may be relevant.

To work as a resident physician at our Cardiology Department, you must have:

• Swedish medical license
• Good knowledge of Swedish
• Knowledge of English

Meritorious:

• Experience working in a cardiology clinic and in the emergency department for internal medicine, cardiology, infection, and geriatrics
• Experience in Thoracic Surgery/Thoracic Anesthesia and research in the above areas

Personal Attributes:

You have a good approach and build trust in your dialogue with patients and relatives.

Even when we work side by side both within the department and with external parties, initiative is key. Working independently on tasks is common, as is the ability to make your own decisions, but you are not alone!

Additionally, we see that you need to be flexible in your work and able to adapt when the workday may not always go as planned.

This position requires that you have a valid license for the relevant profession.
