Job Advertisement: Cook at SiS Youth Home Ljungbacken

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Ljungbacken receives boys aged 16 to 20 years. The institution is located in Uddevalla.

Job Description

Ljungbacken is looking for a trained cook who can work extra as needed in our central kitchen. Ljungbacken has six departments where your task, together with your colleagues, is to prepare lunch and dinner for the institution's departments. The kitchen staff's tasks include planning, preparing, and cooking nutritious and delicious meals. The youth living with us often have special dietary needs and require specific adjustments to the menu. In addition to cooking, the tasks include packing, dishwashing, ordering, and self-control.

Qualifications

You have:

  • Chef training in the form of restaurant and large kitchen education
  • Experience working in a restaurant and/or large kitchen
  • Good knowledge of hygiene regulations and self-control
  • Good Swedish in speech and writing

Your personal suitability is important to us, and we want you to be independent, collaborative, responsible, and have a professional demeanor. You should drive the work in the kitchen based on the needs of the target group, which may vary over time, and maintain close collaboration with treatment staff. You need to be responsible, secure, stable, and controlled in stressful situations.

Employment:

Working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday.

The employment is a special fixed-term position, with needs arising during illness and leave.
