Your summer job
As an occupational therapist in municipal healthcare, you will perform rehabilitation interventions and work with the patient's ability to engage in daily activities. Your work will take place in the patient's home – this could be in a nursing home, group home, service apartment, short-term unit, or private residence.

You will meet patients of various ages with a range of care needs. Therefore, your interventions will always be based on each individual's abilities and resources, with the goal of promoting participation, independence, and health. In your daily work, you will collaborate with experienced and knowledgeable colleagues from other professions, such as nurses, specialist nurses, nursing assistants, and physiotherapists.

Main responsibilities:

• Assess the patient's need for rehabilitation interventions, such as activity training or compensation for functional loss
• Be responsible for ADL assessments, training, housing adaptations, assistive device prescriptions, and performing and evaluating treatments
• Guide nursing/home care staff on how to carry out a transfer
• Documentation in the operational system Combine
• Other tasks may also occur

Who are you?
We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist or who will graduate as an occupational therapist in the summer of 2026. Previous experience in care and nursing is an advantage.

A valid driver's license is required, as a car is used for work. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good computer skills.

As a person, you have a positive attitude and a genuine interest in people. To thrive here, we believe you enjoy a varied workday and are skilled at planning and structuring your work effectively. You are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks, while also having good teamwork skills and appreciating working in a team.

Your future workplace
The healthcare function in Jönköping Municipality consists of 13 healthcare teams and a home team. Together, we work with planned and acute healthcare interventions in the home, as well as with rehabilitation, habilitation, and palliative care, and assessing and meeting the need for assistive devices in the home. Your workday starts and is based in a team location determined by the team's geographical placement.

Good to know
The recruitment is for summer positions during the vacation period from June to August 2026. For those who show promise, there may also be opportunities for continued employment. Your working hours are primarily scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday.
