Vattenfall AB Värme Uppsala produces and delivers approximately 1500 GWh of district heating in Uppsala, Knivsta, and Storvreta. In Uppsala, district cooling and steam are also produced and delivered, and the facility generates electricity. The operations consist of waste incineration as the base and primarily biomass-fired plants as a complement during the cold part of the year.
About the Role
We are now looking for summer workers for the positions of Operations Technician and Production Coordinator.
You will work at Vattenfall's Heat Plant, where we are responsible for operating the district heating facility in Uppsala.
In the role of Operations Technician, you will assist us with corrective and preventive maintenance. For example, we will need help with inspecting the facilities. The work involves shift work, and you will be part of a rotating 6-week schedule with night, day, and weekend shifts. Therefore, it is important that you are available to work both day, night, and weekends.
In the role of Production Coordinator, you will assist us with the administration required when maintenance/external contractors need to work in the facilities. Your role may also involve meeting contractors at the information desk for further guidance. The work is scheduled during daytime hours.
These summer jobs are perfect for you if you want to gain experience working as an operations technician or production coordinator and gain insight into what it is like to work at a large Swedish energy company.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
- Is currently studying at a vocational college or university, preferably as an operations technician or with a focus on energy.
- Can speak and write Swedish fluently.
- It is an advantage if you have previously worked or done a summer job at a heating plant or within another process industry.
- We prefer that you have a few years left in your studies and hope that you wish to return to work more summers with us or at another time of the year.
We are looking for a person who has a strong safety mindset. We also want you to be interested in technology or energy and have a desire to learn new things. Since the role involves corrective maintenance, we want you to be solution-oriented and proactive.
