Within the Health and Care Administration, full-time employment is the norm. This means that all permanent employees are fundamentally employed full-time. More information about what this means for the position will be provided during a potential interview. Exceptions to the full-time norm are personal assistants.

We are looking for two occupational therapists for the Health and Care Administration in Uppsala Municipality. One occupational therapist will have a 100% placement at Bernadotte Elderly Home, and the other will be placed at Västergården/Tunåsen. The position at Västergården/Tunåsen is shared with 3 days per week at Västergården and 2 days per week at Tunåsen.

Bernadotte
Bernadotte is a modern elderly home in Valsätra with large areas for socializing, a private garden, and proximity to nature. Valsätra is located 6 kilometers south of Uppsala city center and is a popular residential area with good bus connections to the city. Bernadotte has 80 apartments, half of which are for individuals with care needs and half for individuals with dementia. Read more about our operations here! Västergården
Västergården is a pleasant elderly home located in the Svartbäcken district. The residence has a beautiful view of the Fyris River and is close to lovely walking paths along the river towards the city center and the Fyrishov swimming and sports facility. Here, residents can enjoy a calm and picturesque environment while having access to all necessary amenities. Västergården has about 50 apartments, both for individuals with care needs and for individuals with dementia. Tunåsen
Tunåsen is located in Svartbäcken, which is a quiet and leafy area. Tunåsen has 47 places. We have large balconies with flowers, and there are planting boxes in the garden. Meals, coffee breaks, and our daily activities are moments of pleasant community. The atmosphere is familial and homely. Job Description
As an occupational therapist with us, you will have the opportunity to make a difference by contributing your expertise, knowledge, and commitment with the user at the center. Your role will involve working with a variety of tasks within your field, such as:
- Assessing activity ability and actions related to the assessment.
- Trial and prescription of assistive devices according to the assistive device process.
- Supporting the operation in designing suitable activities for users and promoting activity-preserving work.
- Guiding and supporting staff in a working method where the patient is as involved as possible.
- Supporting and guiding staff to work with good transfer techniques and ergonomics.
- Supervising occupational therapy students during their clinical practice.
You will work in a team with nurses, physiotherapists, nursing assistants, and operational managers. Our ambition is that you, together with us, develop the operations and yourself in close collaboration with your colleagues.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist, welcoming both experienced and newly graduated licensed occupational therapists. To succeed in the role, you need to have good computer skills and be able to speak, read, and write fluently in Swedish. It is an advantage if you have experience working in special housing for the elderly (SÄBO) and/or experience in prescribing assistive devices.
As a person, you are independent and plan and structure your tasks and workday autonomously. You need to be proactive and have an easy time adapting to changing circumstances and seeing opportunities in them. You also need to have good collaboration skills.
