Park Worker Wanted for Enskede-Årsta-Vantör District Administration

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Welcome to Us

At the Enskede-Årsta-Vantör District Administration, approximately 2,800 employees work.

You will be part of the Urban Environment unit together with park engineers, project managers, urban planners, and investigators. From autumn 2026, we will take over park and nature maintenance in-house, and you will have a unique opportunity to help build a modern and sustainable park operation focusing on biodiversity, electric machines, and smart working methods.

We Offer

With us, you will have meaningful tasks, a workplace focused on development, and good opportunities to balance work and private life. We offer good employment benefits such as wellness grants, the option to convert vacation day allowances into extra days off, and a good working environment. Read more about our benefits here.

Your Role

As a park worker, you contribute to creating a well-maintained and pleasant environment for the residents of Enskede-Årsta-Vantör with the goal of working long-term, sustainably, and circularly. The operation is under development, and you will be part of building the new unit by contributing your knowledge and providing improvement suggestions. Together, you will focus on designing effective and climate-smart working methods and sustainable operations that provide value for the residents and the environment in the area.

Your tasks will vary throughout the year and may include:

  • supervising summer youth workers
  • green space maintenance, such as lawn mowing and weed removal
  • cleaning
  • pruning trees and shrubs
  • hedge trimming
  • planting trees, shrubs, perennials, and more
  • patrolling and supervising playgrounds, dog parks, outdoor gyms
  • maintaining and repairing park and playground equipment.

Since a large part of the work is outdoors, it is important that you enjoy working outside regardless of the weather. Both the role and the unit are new and under development, which means that other tasks may occur. You will have fixed working hours, and weekend work may occur in connection with holidays and during peak season.

Your Competence and Experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • documented and current experience in practical work with green space maintenance
  • current experience working with riding lawnmowers and tool carriers and handheld machines such as trimmers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers
  • a B driver's license for passenger cars
  • communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is advantageous if you have:

  • post-secondary education in areas such as horticulture or landscaping, or other education that the employer deems suitable for the position
  • experience and knowledge of nature conservation maintenance
  • knowledge of and interest in working climate-consciously and circularly with green issues
  • experience and certification for using chainsaws (level AB) and brush cutters (level RA)
  • knowledge of maintenance of handheld machines
  • skills in craft services, such as carpentry, welding, and painting
  • training in playground safety, SS-EN 1176 and SS-EN 16630 for outdoor gyms
  • training in hot work
  • training in work on roads level 1 and 2.

As a park worker, you will meet the residents of Enskede-Årsta-Vantör daily and be the face of the district. Therefore, good service and a pleasant demeanor are a given for you, and you are driven to create pleasant and well-maintained outdoor environments. You are resilient and work independently and enjoy working outside. You thrive in teamwork with colleagues and have the ability to easily adapt to changing tasks and priorities.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities, motivation, and commitment to the position!
