Norrfjärden Parish, located in the northern part of Piteå municipality, is part of the Church of Sweden. The workplace has around fifteen full-time employees and five seasonal staff. Although we, men and women of various ages, have different tasks in the parish, we work closely together.

In the parish activities, there are priests, deacons, musicians, and educators. Additionally, there is administrative staff and hostesses involved in cleaning and serving. The workplace is characterized by teamwork and a spirit of development across all areas of operation. However, we need you!

As a caretaker, you are primarily employed for the funeral services that the Church of Sweden performs on behalf of the state. Your main workplace is in the locality of Norrfjärden and in Rosvik Church. The property and cemetery manager is responsible for three full-time caretakers, two administrators, and one cleaner. Together, you form the parish's team for funeral services and support.

During the summer months, tasks related to park and cemetery work dominate. You and your caretaker colleagues have the important task of receiving and supervising seasonal employees and summer workers. In the winter months, we hope you enjoy shoveling and maintaining the parish's property holdings. Your tasks also include machine maintenance and some cleaning.

Working in the parish means that you need to be prepared to work evenings as needed and every third weekend in connection with services and church ceremonies (baptisms and weddings) in our churches. In the same week, you will also be responsible for the church service in connection with funeral services. Meeting mourners in the church and at the cemetery is part of the job. You share the church's values regarding the equal worth of all people and are aware that in your interactions with parishioners, you are perceived as an ambassador for the parish.

Specialist skills in areas such as property maintenance, vehicle repair, electrical work, or plumbing are advantageous, but the most important thing is that you follow the routines for supervision and maintenance that exist. All employees need to have basic administrative and digital skills – including you, as you will be working in digital systems related to the Funeral Services.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is confident in who they are and what they can do
• Is used to working independently and has good initiative
• Is a pronounced team player in relation to other employees
• Has an easy time creating and maintaining good relationships
• Has suitable education or experience for the tasks.
• Has good physical condition, is willing to work, and is service-oriented.
• Has computer skills and basic administrative abilities.
• Can express themselves well in both speech and writing.
• Has a valid driver's license and access to a car.
• Hopefully has machine operator competence and wheel loader certification.
