Do you want to contribute to ensuring our travelers have safe and reliable journeys this summer? We are now looking for summer substitutes for the operations management of Östgötapendeln, based in Mjölby!

As part of our operations management team, you will play an important role in ensuring that traffic flows smoothly, even when unexpected situations arise. This is a perfect opportunity for you if you have a background in the railway industry and want to develop further.

About the role     As a summer substitute in operations management, you will work in a team with regular operations managers. You are responsible for ensuring that your shifts follow our directives, routines, and work instructions. You also have an overall responsibility for ensuring that our processes within operations management function efficiently and smoothly.

Your tasks In this role, you will work with:

• Implementing measures related to traffic decisions and prioritizing vehicle deployment.

• Being the operational supervisor for onboard staff.

• Managing disruptions that may occur in traffic, directing vehicles and personnel to minimize impact.

• Directing vehicles to and from planned and emergency maintenance.

• Proactively monitoring the traffic situation and ensuring information sharing with relevant parties.

• Fact logging of decisions within your area of responsibility.

• Setting requirements towards the Transport Administration to ensure quality train operation.

• Receiving reports from staff in case of illness, trauma, or incidents and ensuring they receive support according to our routines.

• Administrative work related to operations management.

Qualifications We are looking for someone who:

• Is a train driver or has recently been one, or has at least one year of experience working in operations management within railway traffic.

• Has good knowledge of the railway, its geography, and stakeholders.

• Has a basic understanding of vehicle technology, as well as good knowledge in analysis, train production, and traffic issues.

• Is stress-resistant and has the ability to handle challenging traffic situations.

• Has high analytical and logical skills and can make quick and independent decisions.

• Has good ability to manage personnel and collaborate with others.

• Meritorious: Experience driving or working with the vehicle type X61.

What we offer Scope & Employment type: Summer substitute position for summer 2026. Working hours: Shift work, working every other weekend. Location: Mjölby. Start date: The employment begins with introduction and training in April.
