Habilitation is specialized healthcare for children and adolescents with autism, intellectual disabilities, mobility impairments, or acquired brain injuries. We provide health-promoting and therapeutic interventions based on each individual's unique needs and circumstances, and we have specialist knowledge about how disabilities can affect daily life, health, and development.

Description

In December 2025, a new clinic within child and adolescent habilitation opened in the Gothenburg area; Habilitering Gamlestaden, focusing on children and adolescents with permanent mobility impairments.

The facility is located in newly renovated, bright, and beautiful premises in SKF, right next to the SKF bus stop.

We are now looking for a licensed psychologist for a maternity leave position at 100% for 1 year with a possible extension. In addition to psychologist colleagues, you will work alongside other professional categories such as social workers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, special educators, doctors, nurses, dietitians, and administrative staff. Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include psychological assessments and evaluations, including cognitive and neuropsychiatric assessments. The role also includes therapeutic interventions, for example, for mild to moderate mental health issues.

At Habilitering for Children and Youth, we work in interdisciplinary teams. The work is carried out in close collaboration with guardians, children/adolescents, and colleagues. This requires a high degree of independence, flexibility, and teamwork skills. Interventions can be provided individually or in groups and take place over defined periods. Supervision for psychology students and PTP psychologists may occur within the organization.

Qualifications

The target groups for Habilitering for Children and Youth are children and adolescents with permanent disabilities such as intellectual disabilities, autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and neuromuscular diseases.

We are looking for a licensed psychologist who wants to help develop our clinic and services. You should have experience and interest in working with patients belonging to the habilitation's target groups. Knowledge about mobility impairments, intellectual disabilities, and related needs is an advantage. Since our working method is based on teamwork, experience in interdisciplinary work is also an advantage.

About 50 employees work in interdisciplinary teams with broad competence and great commitment. The habilitation clinics in Gothenburg are seen as a unified habilitation with strong collaboration between the clinics.
