Description

We are a bold employer at the forefront of development and management.

As a manager in Gislaved Municipality, you represent the difference between a functioning operation and an excellent one. In your leadership, you are brave and curious. You dare to try new ideas that are timely and meet today’s and tomorrow’s demands from the outside world. You care for your area of responsibility but always take a holistic perspective for Gislaved Municipality.

The Committee and Case Management Unit is a central support function within the municipality responsible for ensuring that the political decision-making process and handling of public documents are conducted legally, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable legislation.

We work closely with both political bodies and the municipality's various administrations and are an important part of the democratic infrastructure. The unit is responsible for, among other things, committee administration, record-keeping, document management, information governance, and support in the application of the principle of public access and the Archives Act.

We create structure and quality in case management and ensure transparency, legality, and service throughout the document lifecycle – from incoming documents to archiving.

Responsibilities

As the unit manager, you are responsible for:

  • leading and developing the unit with a focus on quality, legality, efficiency, and service
  • being responsible for committee and council administration, case preparation, registration, and archives
  • ensuring a professional and coordinated support to political committees, administrative management, and managers
  • providing legal support, primarily to the municipal executive office but also to other committees and companies within the municipal group
  • driving the development of processes, working methods, and digital support within the unit
  • having operational, personnel, work environment, and budget responsibility
  • leading the municipality's work in election administration
  • contributing to the overall development of the municipality and strengthening structures in an organization undergoing change

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a secure, clear, and communicative leader with high integrity and the ability to create structure in complex contexts. You are solution-oriented, present, and build trust through collaboration and participation.

You thrive in a politically governed organization and have a strong interest in how good administration, legal quality, and clear processes create value for both operations and citizens.

You have a clear focus on creating structure, ensuring that routines and decision-making processes comply with applicable legislation and regulations, and contributing to increased internal competence in municipal law, administrative law, and legal processes.

The assignment also includes driving digitization and streamlining working methods, always with legality, quality, and good service at the center.

Your leadership is closely linked to your ability to communicate. With us, this means that you lead the operation by building relationships and creating participation. The four most important communicative abilities for a manager in Gislaved Municipality are engagement, clarity, responsiveness, and analytical ability. Together with your colleagues, you promote new thoughts and ideas that move Gislaved Municipality forward.

We see that you have:

  • relevant university or college education, such as a law degree, political science, public administration, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
  • documented experience of legal work
  • several years of managerial experience with responsibility for operations, personnel, work environment, and economy
  • experience from the public sector (municipality, region, or state)
  • experience in change management and developing teams towards common goals
  • very good knowledge of public law, including the Municipal Act, the Administrative Act, the Public Access and Secrecy Act, and GDPR
  • very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • driving license B

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and that your view of leadership aligns with ours.

We apply a background check (extract from the criminal record) as part of the suitability assessment for positions that involve direct and regular contact with children and youth.

Do you want to be part of our success? Welcome with your application!

In Gislaved Municipality, full-time is a right, and therefore vacant positions* are advertised as full-time. When the operation can accommodate part-time, it is of course an option. *Positions shorter than 3 months and certain positions may be exempted. In preparation for the recruitment process, Gislaved Municipality has decided on recruitment channels and marketing. We therefore strongly request no contact with media sellers, recruitment sites, and similar.
