Specialist Nurse Assistant at Berga Nursing Home
The position is located within the Health and Care Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Health and Care Administration is responsible for the municipality's elderly care, health care, authority operations, ordering services, and providing care and support directly. We work with quality awareness and professionalism to make each day as good as possible for the residents of Linköping who need us. Do you want to improve the everyday life, future, and quality of life for the residents of Linköping? With us, you can combine important tasks with a meaningful daily life. Welcome to us!
Your Responsibilities
As a specialist nurse assistant at Berga Nursing Home, you play an important role both in daily care work and as a resource with advanced competence.
You will work with care tasks such as personal hygiene, transfers, meals, medical interventions, and household chores. You are responsible for case management, which means you participate in welcome conversations, establish and follow up on implementation plans, and have contact with relatives as needed. The role also involves supporting other nurse assistants in the workgroup through guidance and follow-up. Your work includes contributing to meaningful activities with the residents, such as outdoor activities, music, cafes, and gardening.
We work based on IBIC (Individual Needs in Center) and with a salutogenic approach, which means we focus on each individual's strengths and draw out their own abilities. The work is also characterized by low-arousal responses.
Your Workplace
At Berga Nursing Home, you will be part of a welcoming culture and an engaged workgroup with 36 employees, of which seven work night shifts. We strive to create a positive work environment focused on development and improvement, where your experiences and ideas for improvement are welcome. With us, you will have the opportunity to develop within your professional role and contribute to creating a workplace where both residents and staff thrive. This position is scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends with a full-time employment rate of 100%.
The residence is located in Berga with four departments and a total of 42 places, offering bright rooms of approximately 36 square meters with private bathrooms and kitchenettes. All rooms have access to shared spaces such as kitchens and living rooms, as well as outdoor areas and glassed-in terraces. Here we use BEATA, an individualized working method that includes digital supervision and digital alarms, which increases the privacy of the residents and reduces the need for physical supervision.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who has a recognized education as a specialist nurse assistant with a focus on dementia care, psychiatry, or multi-sick elderly people, and has experience working in care and support. It is an advantage if you have worked in elderly care and/or dementia care. Furthermore, experience with the BPSD method (behavioral and psychological symptoms in dementia) and knowledge of low-arousal responses are also advantageous.
To perform the tasks, you need to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as clear communication with colleagues, residents, and their relatives is central. You also need to have good computer skills as digital documentation is a central part of the work.
We see that you are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks, which allows you to plan and implement interventions in a structured way. Your ability to collaborate means that you can work together with colleagues, share information, and solve problems constructively. Empathy is central in meeting customers, which means you can understand their situation and provide support without taking over their feelings. At the same time, you communicate clearly with both customers and colleagues and ensure that information is conveyed and followed up so that all expectations are clear. You also have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and adapt the way you convey messages to the recipient.
To ensure high quality in our operations, a language test is included in the recruitment process. Upon hiring, you will also need to present an extract from the police criminal record.
