Järfälla municipality is an expanding municipality where more people will share existing infrastructure while new infrastructure is being built. Järfälla is a dynamic municipality northwest of Stockholm that combines proximity to nature, city, and water. In Barkarbystaden, a completely new, modern district is emerging with housing, commerce, workplaces, and a new subway station that strengthens Järfälla's already good communications. Today, about 320 people work at the Community Building Administration, and we act on behalf of the technical committee, the environmental and building permit committee, and the municipal executive administration. The technical department's important mission includes both management and technical support in an expanding municipality. Together, we are creating the future Järfälla – a place for everyone.

The technical department is a new department that is part of the community building administration, which is less than a year old. Therefore, we are in the midst of change and are looking for the best solutions.

Transport service, which is part of the technical department, is a municipal unit that performs various transports for Järfälla Municipality. Our main task is passenger transport.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a part-time driver with us at the transport service, you will help cover our staffing needs, both for illnesses and during peak hours. The number of hours each day will depend on the staffing of regular drivers and how many trips we have each day. The traffic management will staff up and book in consultation with the driver.

What a day might look like:

• Passenger transport and wheelchair transport

• The day starts in the office between approximately 5:45-7:15.
• Approximately 5:45-8:15 - Drive school children to school
• Approximately 8:15-10:00 - Drive elderly adults and pensioners to various daily activities
• Approximately 10:00-14:15 - We have less work tasks which may lead to longer unpaid breaks
• Approximately 14:15-18:00 - Drive all our various passengers home
• Days usually end in the office, typically between 16:30-18:00

Other tasks that may occur include:

• Food transports (We drive food carts between the municipality's various kitchens)
• Mail deliveries (We drive the municipality's internal mail between different units)
• Moving jobs (We perform smaller moves for various municipal units)

You will work in a team of about 40 drivers and 4 traffic managers along with their unit managers. The traffic managers plan your schedule and your days. They are also available to assist you in your daily work.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role of Part-time Passenger Transport Driver, you should:

• Have held a B driver's license for at least 2 years
• Speak and write Swedish - Very good knowledge
• Have an interest in working with people

Additionally, it is advantageous if you have experience in:

• Passenger transport
• Wheelchair transport
• Working with people of various ages
• Working with individuals with disabilities
• Trained in CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
• Working with people with dementia
